Van Winter ("we", "us", "our") operates Kingdom of Snow (https://kingdomofsnow.gg). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. By using Kingdom of Snow, you agree to the practices described here.

When you register, we collect your email address and a username of your choosing. We do not require your real name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

We record match outcomes (wins, losses, king captures, rounds played), in-game economy activity (Arctic Dollar balance changes, purchases, staking history), and aggregate gameplay statistics. This data is used to run the game, calculate payouts, and display leaderboards.

We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps of requests. This data is retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

If you contact us by email, we retain your message and email address to respond. We do not use these for marketing without your explicit consent.

We do not collect payment card numbers, billing addresses, or financial account details. Arctic Dollars are a closed virtual currency with no cash equivalent; no payment processing occurs on our platform.

• To operate, maintain, and improve the game and its features.
• To process in-game transactions and maintain accurate Arctic Dollar balances.
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent cheating or fraud.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset). We do not send promotional emails unless you explicitly opt in.
• To generate anonymised aggregate statistics about gameplay patterns.
• To comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Service providers. We use Supabase for database and authentication hosting. Supabase processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfers. If Van Winter is acquired or merges, your data may transfer to the successor entity. We will notify you via email or in-app notice before that occurs.
• Public leaderboards. Your username and aggregate match statistics (wins, rank) may be displayed publicly within the game. You can contact us to request removal from public displays.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law (e.g. transaction logs for fraud prevention, retained for up to 7 years).

Anonymised gameplay statistics (win rates, round counts) may be retained indefinitely as they cannot be linked back to you.

We use only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics tools. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so will prevent you from logging in.

Kingdom of Snow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@vanwinter.gg and we will delete it promptly. Users in jurisdictions where the age of digital consent is higher (e.g. 16 in parts of the EU) must meet the applicable local age requirement.

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you promptly of any confirmed breach affecting your personal data.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including: access to your personal data; correction of inaccurate data; deletion of your account and data; data portability; and objection to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at legal@vanwinter.gg. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Canada, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Van Winter is based in British Columbia, Canada. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure which may be located outside Canada. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date and notify you by email or in-app notice if the changes are material. Continued use of Kingdom of Snow after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
